Ok so my car is sitting in the center of my detail shop. I am in the process of painting my drums black. So I pulled the drum off, got it all painted up nicely and threw it back on. The problem is now the wheel will not sit flush I can see threads exposed behind the wheel. I have smacked the drum to make sure it is sitting properly and it seems to be however it grinds when I turn it. When the wheel is on it doesn't turn at all. When the drum is off the hub spins freely, no sound. Now I wouldn't be freaking out normally but I am open for business tomorrow morning so I need to get my damn car out the door!! Any ideas would be much appreciated, I just need to be able to move the car out, I'm not driving it anyway. Thanks!
My bet is the pads are hitting the drum. Try turning the star adjuster down a bit. That will make the brake shoes less tight on the inside of the drum. They are auto-adjusting so after cycling the brakes a few times they will tighten up to where they're supposed to be.
