Pulling to the left when accelerating?
Thursday, August 06, 2009 6:44 PM
What could be the problem?
I just replaced the control arm bushings, ball joints, and tie rod ends.I finished it off with an alignment.
After I done all that it was fine,up until now.
I was on the highway when it happened.
When I accel it turns to the left when I let off the throttle it goes back straight?
Any thoughts?

You didn't torque the control arms correctly, I've posted about it several times. The front bolt that holds the control arm is not properly torqued and will cause what you describe.

You waited an hour before reposting? Lol...

Just re-torque the bolts. I thought what Tom said was pretty self explanitory....

I checked all the bolts and they seem to be fine.

I'm really getting tired of this car I am ALWAYS working on it.
It seems like every time I replace something there is another problem right after....

I used to have quite a bit of torque steer, not so much after installing the quaife diff. Cheap & easy fix!

did you check your mounts? perhaps a bolt came out....???

and a bolt in the control arm "seeming" fine....doesnt mean that it is.

i would definitaly bust out a torque wrench.

You should see how hard a cav with 438 hp pulls to the left lol. Its happened on all our cavs, all with TG lsd inserts...

I tried tighten the control arm bolts more but they were tight.
I checked the mounts and they were fine. I'm thinking that I might have installed the big doughnut bushings in the wrong way? Do you think that it would matter which way they go in? The only difference is the one side is smoother than the other.....

I had the same issue when I accel it went left and if I got off the gas quickly it pulled hard to the right though. Turns out it was a snapped control arm bolt. If you want to see how I fixed it here Hope you figure it out. keep us posted

I had the same issue for 2 seasons. Control arm bolt was loose. A lot of guys snap theirs - try removing a few and see if they are still whole, and re-torque.

Good luck man, I know it annoyed the living hell out of me.

Will do...
But now I have another problem....ARGGGGG.......
Now when im around 2k rpms the car vibrates real bad and in between shifts, and when im in gear and just idling.
Could this be the control arm bushings also I HOPE......
