My bushings are bad, before I replace them I have a question for anyone who has used the prothane ones... Is it really worth 3x the price over the oem replacement? I just cant imagine there will be THAT much of a diference in performance. the car is autocrossed and next year i want to road race so im debating on just getting the prothanes while its torn apart... any imput would be very helpful, thanks
turn in response is better and wheel hop is pretty much non existent. I think there worth every penny.

worth it in my book...
you would be amazed to see how much the rubber bushings allow the control arm to move in wrong directions...

3 times the price and they are they are still cheap. Just do them, they are worth it
MORE than worth it, especially if you're lowered as they'll last a ton longer than rubber will. On hard launches they'll help with wheel hop a little too (at least they did for me).
Thanks guys. Ile be ordering them right away. MD, how terrible is shipping on that site? I dont want to fill out all the info to buy them somewhere else.... FleaBay has them for about 40 shippeed
^ NVM no idea how i missed the big flashing banner at the top that says FREE SHIPPING... oops. thanks for the link

This is one of the few threads you'll ever see on the JBO where everyone is in agreement.

Thank you Dave and JBO!
They worked wonders for my wheel hop. Now that my drag radials are getting more sticky its starting to get a little wheelhop doing burnouts/launches now but still way better than before without them. Good for saving axels when doing launches at the track.

I order those bushings in bulk from Allecotec(sister site to Car Customs and owned by the same person) and did not have a single problem with shipping.

one step up better than that is if u have a welder mig or tig do a search on dark star crossmember for civics they can be built for under a 100 bucks with rod ends
the rod ends and extra jam nuts are at summit racing for under 40 bucks
IF U CANT WELD DONT DO THIS as it invovles good knowledge of custom fab and welding brakets the control arm
also ur gonna have to remove the win washer reserve atleast i had to on my 95
and if ur wanting an engine damper look at the rear shock absorber on mountain bike that have em with coil spring
this can be made for under 20 bucks
if it start the next day it can be driven harder
3x the price a kit for both control arms 4 bushings is only 65CDN with taxes 1 OEM bushing is 30, so worth it bud

They are very well worth it.

Just got here yesterday. Installing them Saturday
Already on the car. Not to hard of an install. just took a saturday afternoon and got it all done. and there is a noticeable diference in steering response. i cant tell if there is even a stiffer ride, but im also on goldline springs with 205/40/17 tires, so my ride doesnt get much stiffer lol. I would reccomend these for any j owner bang to buck ratio is great!
hi gang... was doing some brushing up on control arms, and looks like this will be a great idea for my 98. it is the daily driver with 176k and going strong, but some of the parts are finally wearing on it. should i look into urethane bushings for the sway bar linkage as well when i replace the control arm bushings? and have any of you replaced your own control arm bushings; can it be done at home or did you have a shop press the new ones in? thanks for any input and ideas. peace.... john in grand haven, michigan
