My brakes are clicking, what could it be?
Friday, April 22, 2005 9:10 PM
I recently had a new transmission put in and as soon as I got it back I had a problem with it. When you first start the car and get going, the very first time you use the brakes they will click , and after the first stop it wont do it again. The ABS light also comes on when this happens. Any ideas of what this could be.

Check to see if the ABS connector is attached to the back of the hub. Should be a plastic connector with 2 wires. Plugs into the hub, to read whether the hub is spinning while braking or locked up. The clicking could be the sensors trying to read. When they don't detect the connection, the light comes on.

I may not know much about cars, but I know two things....
1) Breaking things is expensive, and
2) Horsepower isn't cheap.
