sloted/crossdrilled rotors...
Monday, May 09, 2005 4:44 PM
the cav is gonna need front brakes soon so i figured why not upgrade a little.....i dont know anything about brake rotors, i did a search and learned about a few brands like the Powerslot, and Bombero (sp?)....i belive the ones RK sport has in their magazine are powerslot

which brands are good quality? Do they really make much of a difference? and these are just stock size and fit right on correct?

and if anyone could link me up to where to get them at a decent price that would be great!! thanks in advance

Well, if you want to upgrade your rotors and not pay a whole lot I would just get the brembo OEM's from Nopi's website (Brake Rotors)

In my opinion, after using slotted rotors, they are not worth the extra money. You will recieve much more gains from uprgrading your pads and then your lines to stainless steel. Your pads will last much longer too.

My reccomended choices for pads at a good price: Pads

I'm currently using the ultimates and love them.

Also Baer just came out with an OEM replacement size rotor. They seem to work well.

power slot rotors are pretty good. but cross drilled have a tendency to crack, so keep that in mind

i think hi-rev and rk sport both carry stainless lines, you might want to check karo at car customs also

thanks zach...what kinda rotors are you using? the brembo? or are you on stock ones

I was using Pat's slotted rotors but now I'm using brembo OEM's. Just put them on today . I honestly don't think its worth spending more than twice as much as the brembo's on powerslots. Whatever you decide, I would stay away from cross drilled rotors. The only advatage I ever noticed with slotted rotors was during wet braking. The down side to slotted rotors is they chew through your pads quickly and they cost a whole bunch more.

It seems everyone on the org who has the Ti22 pads likes them. I bought the ultimates because I have met several autocrossers who liked them. I have not met anyone autocrossing on the Ti22 pads, so I can really give any insight on those.

The axxus ultimates do produce a lot of dust, but its not bad if you wash your wheels once every couple weeks.

you guys said to stay away from cross drilled rotors because of cracking, they say there not a total cross drilled so they avoid the normal problems, but then again i duno hwo much i belvie it....what about these??
