lol 99redz24 i have the same setup as you do(minus the konis tho) but my car would never get mistaken for being on air since its still pretty high.... but ur cars super nice man i just had to say that... peace

wheel gaps are gonna vary from

-where people took their pics at on level ground or a slanted hill
-how much weight is in the car
-how much weight is normally in the car which might have caused the springs to be a bit lower.

if you followed the manual, theres really not much you can mess up on. you said you had a manual, i mean there are pictures in there as well as diagrams.

also with 215/45 tires, its slightly below what they should be (225) so there will be more wheel gap.

thanks for the nice words. but im serious. the drag strip i race at, the tech guy asked if i was on airbags. of course i said no. lol
then as i was waiting in the pit area for my class to be called up, some bystanders ask the same question too. my opinion i dont my car sits that low

Mine sits a bit lower, both front and rear, especially in rear, Koni`s here but the car has had this setup for quite some time, settled pretty well.

sounds like you dont have the spring seats along with the bearings...

Re: Sportlines

yea thats what i was thinking...but i dunno bout the rear mine just seems a bit too high...

i guess i wll post pics of it when its out the body shop...

then u guys can tell me what u think

Re: Sportlines

what do you mean thats what you were thinking? you should know if you added em... or not..... right?

if you added all the parts that are shown in the manual, then you should be fine.

Re: Sportlines
Monday, May 23, 2005 7:21 AM
yea but its been doing the clunking sound ever since we put the Arospeeds on there...so its not like i took them off and didnt put them back on. but im gonna tear the front apart and put them on there when i get the car out the shop...

so u think just cuz i dont have the bearings/seats it will make the front sit lower? But what about the rear? why do u think its sitting so much higher then everyone elses... maybe i have the springs upside down? isnt it Eibach side up?

Re: Sportlines
Monday, May 23, 2005 10:02 AM
eibach side up...

the car is one piece, so when one side goes lower, the other side can possibly raise. leverage is the cause.

it popped with the arospeeds cause they dont come with bearings. i told ya that when i put em on.

remember i told you to save the bearings and spring seats... those are the parts you install springs with. check the manual dude. i'm not joking. else how are the springs gonna properly seat on the mount and also rotate when you turn?

Re: Sportlines
Monday, May 23, 2005 11:55 AM
are these bearings the same bearings u told me to order from rksport a few times?

if so i have those....

and i need the spring seats? Are these different then the spring perch? can u get me a pic of them?i have all my stock stuff from when we did the arospeeds in my shed but i dunno what im looking for...

Re: Sportlines

the spring seats are plastic. dont have any pics off hand, but look in the manual, pictures should be there.

i cant help too much if you arent gonna help as well. when you see em, you really cant miss em...

hell bradiscool.com has a step by step, so theres no reason you should have put anything together without knowing what goes where.

and no, def not the same as coilover bearings.

Re: Sportlines

umm okay...art

everything that was on the coilover setup before is back onto the car...so whatevers not there i dont have and i have to get...theres no reason to have any confusion...

so having the manual would have done no good...but it will be good to see what im missing. and im guessing ur meaning the haynes manual? how would the haynes manual have pictures of lowering ur car?

Re: Sportlines

I just did koni reds and sportlines. It sits a little bit lower in the back, but i have a four door, and it did seem to take a day or two for the kit to settle. Also the kind of surface your parked on does affect the wheel gap. on a smoothe cement surface it looks good, but in my gravel driveway it looks very uneven

Eibach side is not up on the fronts. I noticed it said that in the instructions but the springs only fit on my struts (front only, back was upside right) But on the front Eibach is written upside down.

of course i mean the haynes manual... the one that comes with the car is like a manual on how to take a pee pee. anyone familiar with humans in general should know how... same for thats small manual that comes with the car, it tells you the basic things about the car... not how to repair it.

remember when wild weasel wrote to you and said

Get yourself some sort of manual before doing any work on your car. A Haynes or service manual will give you all the proper torque specs for things before you go and do more damage. To take off the strut assembly, you'll take off those ones you mentioned as well as two large bolts on the bottom. It is imperative that you torque everything properly when putting it back on.

got one...but how do i check the torque specs of an item?

http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=3&i=89219&t=89219

in almost ANY MANUAL...they show............. PICTURES AND DIAGRAMS.....

so you will know what the part is and in what order you put it on the assembly of whatever assembly.

no the manual doesnt show you how to lower a car....duh, its to repair and replace things. but since it shows you diagrams of major parts and pieces, even wiring diagrams... the only thing different would be the spring used... and since the spring is the same style, just shorter, simply looking at the diagram you would be able to see what a strut looks like, with the mount, the bearings, the spring seat, etc...

you said you have one, a manual, so make use of it. i also gave you a link above which shows you HOW TO LOWER A CAR in the form of BRADISCOOL.COM in the GARAGE section. that has pictures as well.

so if you have everything from coilovers, then you dont have all the parts. look in the manual or the website and see which parts are not there.

easiest way to tell is the fat end of the spring goes to the top, the narrow end of the spring goes to the bottom.
