Brembo Color ?

I like the Brembo slotted rotors that can be bought at Tirerack.com. However, I don't care for the gold color of the rotor. I called and the sales rep told me that the color wears off really quick. Can anyone confirm this is true? I don't feel like driving around for several years with gold rotors and chorme rims.

The gold colour is cadmium plating, which is a type of rust proof coating. You could paint over it with silver brake paint... but it won't wear off unless it's actually rubbed off.. and some parts of the rotor never rub.

i have the brembo replacement rotors (slotted) from tirerack.com. They do have the gold color but now that they have been on my car for about 2 months the gold color is really only noticable around the center of the rotor were it comes in contact with the wheel and around the top where the caliper doesn't touch. Where the pad has contacted it looks like a dull color between silver and gold. I have the stock Z24 rims and you can't really tell that they were gold. Shouldn't look dumb. Great rotors though, huge improvement over the stock pieces of crap.

It is just a plating to prevent rust. It will wear off fast.

Totally agree. Same with my Brembos.
