I just lowered my cavy with some 1.8 inch drop sprint springs. my question is.....how necessary is an Alignment at this point? Is is necessary to do in order to save my tires from abnormal wear? or will the suspension changes be minimal enough to not warrent one? thanks guys

Whenever you remove the front strut set up get it aligned. It will save from the ware as well as stearing will be easier. Car will ride better as well as handle better.
Is it best to get it aligned right away, or is a 2-3 day waite acceptable? thnx

IMHO: The only acceptable time/distance is whatever it take to get it to the shop.
If that 2-3 day wait is sitting in the garage, then it's ok. Do not drive the car w/o an alignment (except to get it to the shop). Drive gently too.
Popping a rim seal cause you though the tire was straight enough, so you drove fast, then hit a pot hole... and now your rim is bent and the tire shredded.... Let's just say it's not pleasant.
You will definitely need an alignment. I wouldn't drive on it without an alignment for more than 100 miles. I doubt your toe is WAY out from just changing springs (and hopefully shocks) so it shouldn't eat up your tires, but its possible.

It is not that big of a issue. I always wait 3 weeks (if new springs) to allow them to settle before getting alignment. More than likely it will not be off anyways.
