Keep the springs if you like them.

You can buy yourself some Konis from www.highrevmotorsports.com or Ebay.

Here is a direct link:

what can i do about a nasty bog that let me get almost beat by a civic? i have a injen intake and unorthadox pulley and straight muffler. but if i let off the clutch and be at 1500 rpm then put it to the floor it sucks upto 5000 what can i do it shouldnt be that slow

First thing, I don't know what motor or kind of car you have to really give you indepth details.

The only advice I can give you is to finish your exhaust system properly, not just leaving a muffler (which is not helping you as far as performance).

Also, if your trying to take off, your better off dropping a gear so that your back in your powerband then shift. By staying in that gear and being at a lower rpm, your building back momentum to be back in your powerband...that's why it's "slow" untill you reach 5000 RPMs. When you become more of a better driver you'll realize little tricks and you will also realize that driving skills has alot to do about racing.

Well you have a 2.4 motor with over 120,000 miles on it and your trying to race someone...it's not going to do well. Remember wear and tear does alot. Your 2.4 stock comes with 150 HP and 155 lbs of torque stock (crank)...you could have lossed alot of power depending on how the car was taken car of and also because of high mileage. Your motor has been through alot and it's not going to act like a peppy new or 1 year old car...it's a beaten down old lady by time it reaches that high of mileage.

You can always do little upgrades like exhaust & intake to build up a little power but your going to end in the same result, you won't be satisfied. WIth a car that high mileage...if you are serious about modifying it, I'd change the bottom end with new strong parts or atleast do it in the near future.

By the way, having an aftermarket muffler with stock piping isn't doing anything as far as performance. Your stock piping is still restrictive and having an bigger muffler isn't doing anything to gain you (or your friend) power.

i myself put like 57000 km on it. it starts good and runs ok its a lot faster in the morning cause of air conditions. in the morning its cool out and air more dense i guess but at afternoon it hard to breath for myself sometimes cause there is no air flow. also my CAI
gets pretty hot along with the engine so no help there. plus those stupid platinum 4 make it run a little hotter i notice a slight bump on the guage but im changing them this weekend.
planing on ho intake, costom bored 62mm thotle body and ful exaust since i have my header maybe this weekend too
whats the best 2.25 or 2.5? cant find the answer

Get 2 1/4" if your staying all motor, 2 1/2" if your boosting

if i go 2.5 and not boost in the future will it lose power? along with back pressure?
id have to get alot of money together if i rebuild. if u put just cams will it run good i was thinking jbp stage two? i would cash advance mony to put those in but id need anothere car to drive if i pull my engine out plus money for all the rebuild.
what if i got another head and ported and polished it plus new valve spring and stage two cams then just bolt it right on?
i know im a pain but i dont want a gas gusslin v8 or a easy to soup up honda
i like my cavi very much but want to kick civics asses. what about turbing it on the stock crank? i dont drive it that hard maybe up to red line on a weekend but weekly only 4500 at the most rpm on the way to work

I have a 2 1/2" piping with no boost (at the moment) but I have motor work to increase more flow, so the loss isn't so bad. In your case, you would lose low end power if you went 2 1/2". Mine is how it is cause I'm preparing for boost.

JBP makes good cams...as far as how they run, yes they should run fine. I'm not sure if you will throw codes but after doing so, look into how your A/F ratio is.

As far as your whole car situation, it comes with the territory. If your going to tear upart your car and rebuild a motor, yeah your going to not have a car for a while. Time also equals money...if you have the money already, you can have it done faster.

Gas gussling v8, no but remember your gas mileage may go down. It really all depends.

I believe the 2.4s crank and ECO crank can handle alot of power. Turbo is a good idea but if your looking for extreme amounts of boost (over 10 psi) then I would suggest upgrading your bottom end and lowering the compression to around 9:1.

Really it's all about money and preference. I can't tell you what to do, I might like something that you don't so don't use me to make your decisions, I'm just simply giving suggestions and a few facts.

Yeah with 10 psi and proper tuning, you'll be taking alot of cars out. All of us are in some type of financial situation...I guess thats why we own cheap american vehicles that happen to have decent engines lol

Good luck with your future plans. I'm glad I could be some help.
