yo, has anyone bought the Tokico D-Spec shox for the 3rd gens? they look good on paper, i was wondering how good they were in an operational environment....

I have used Tokico race shocks on my Integra and my DSM. But I am a bit wirry about sticking a product on a car that was never marketed in Japan.

lol the cavy was in japan from like 1995(or 96) to 2000 (or 2001)
Mine are coming in next week sometime so I'll let you know.
I have had my D-Specs on for 3 weeks now, and I absolutely love 'em. The ride is so much better than stock, and it only takes me a few minutes to adjust all 4 corners whenever I feel like it. I bought the kit that included the tokico springs, and I ended up with almost a 2" drop.

had them on with sportlines for 2 months now. ride is a little bouncy on back roads around my house, but it rides good through town. i love the adjustability of the shocks. i would deifiniteky say they are worth the money. install was easy too. took 3 hours or so. i wouldn't trade them for anything. i also had a tokico suspension on a prelude that i sold. that was the best ride in a lowered car that i ever experienced. so yeah, i would reccomend them to anyone.
To Cracker Rocket, are you really sure it was a 2" drop? I talked to Tokico the other day and they told me the springs were supposed to be a 1.4" drop. 2" is a bit far for me. Do you think they sagged quite a bit, or are you just estimating?

I <3 my D-Specs and that's all I have to say about that...
They make an on ramp a terrible thing to waste.
silvercav02, I am just estimating. No, the springs are not sagging. The springs that came with the kit are rated at 1.6" of drop, but I think it may be a little more than that. I'm not sure though because I didn't bother taking measurements before and after the install.
who sells the Tokico's? I've been out of it for a while, last time I had a j-body, Koni Reds were the hottest thing on the market, LOL.
I ordered mine through an e-bay dealer. I got a really good price, and had them in 3 days from the time I purchased them.
Aaron: go to Shox.com bro, they've got the struts for about $600

cracker rocket: how much did you pay for them. im looking to order some this week and want to see what other people are paying.
stephen gray: was the install really that easy. it seems like it should take more than 3 hours but if that is the case, then im stoked.

I just ordered the d spec package which includes the struts and the springs. I got them from ebay for $685 shipped. Not too bad since shipping was free. If you get the spring and strut separate and then factor in shipping charges, this is a really good price.

Cracker Rocket, I would like to see picks of your car as when I did the D-spec and Tokico I didn't get nearly that much drop. mor like the 1.7 in front an .7" in back.
At the bash I looked at Karo's car, which had D-specs and sportlines and the rear of his car was a full .5" higher than the car next to him with the yellows. I am still trying to find out what happened and why this is. I ended up with Sportlines and D-specs and I love it! I have said it before and I will say it again, D-specs is the next generation of suspension for the Cavalier, they take over where Koni left off.
i had them since early summer...
i autoX and i tell you that they are great for adjustability and handling... i;m on prokits aswell.
all smiles here
Marchi1, don't know what to say. Maybe you had the prings in upside down? I almost did that installing them, but luckily I realized my error before I got them on the car. I really don't know. All I know is that I got a substantial, and definitely noticable, drop with the kit.
