Sagging

the rear of my car looks like it is sagging a little. i checked it out on level ground and i can see that the rear is lower than it should be. i know i need to change my rear strut mounts because when i go over bumps it makes a clunking noise. so could getting the new mounts solve the problem or will i just have to try it and find out?

Your rear shouldn't be sagging at all.. Do you have audio equipment in the trunk??

The back should sit about 1/2" higher than the front on level ground, with no extra weight.

Mounts shouldn't effect this unless they're really broke bad.

no audio, but i went out tonight and looked at it again and it looked to be sitting correctly. it drives me nuts because sometimes it will look lower than it should and other times it will look like its sagging. i try to check it when i believe the ground is level but maybe what i think is level isnt really level. could it be something with compressing the spring because i just put the spring and then the mount without compressing the rears because thats what the bradiscool instructions said.

i just went and read the bradiscool instructions again and i read something about having to pull the strut rod up in order to put the mount back on. i just took the strap that kept the AGX's compressed off and it popped up. . .should i have pulled it up more or would it have just gone up to its maximum height. maybe this is the problem??

Sounds like you have a correct installation, and a crooked eye.

i think you are right. if i stand up at the front of the car it looks like the back is lower but if i crouch it looks the way it should. i guess its just a perspective kind of thing.
