firstly i have ground control coilovers on oem struts (autozone)
well i attempted to get an alignment recently only to be told my metal bearings for the front struts are useless. i basically noticed this myself because everytime i turn the steering wheel extremely it basically pulls the car in that direction when driving straight again.
so i go order the strut mount bearings what i assumed he was talking about from gm and theres are plastic bearings that do not touch a goddamn thing with the coilovers. so thats not the problem. so i cleaned the metal bearing inside the mount and the entire assembly and that didnt work either. the metal bearing still seemed good which makes me believe thats not the problem either.
anyone

If you dont have the bearings that came with your ground control coilovers, you will need this ones:
https://www.motionindustries.com/motion3/jsp/mi/motion.jsp
the bearing that you have wont work because that bearing its only when using the spring seat, when using springs.....
Since now you have a new spring seat ( a smaller one) you need a bearing of the shock's rod diameter, so the spring seat can rotate, eliminating friction which is making your car to act unaligned.....
I dont understand why you have ground control coilovers that are so expensive and installed them without knolage..... I hope it wasnt you......
You need 4 washers as well to put on top and bottom of the bearing.....
research more on this, im not 100% shure but there's even how to for ground control coilovers
good luck
first i will state, i bought the car with the groundcontrols w/oem struts...
when i removed the strut assembly last night from the car, it did indeed have the supplied metal roller bearing sandwiched between two washers. it the bearing and washers fit nicely between the top of the strut mount and the top of the spring perch. but when i was doing some trials with my hand smashing the strut and spring together it seemed like some of the rust on the strut mount and that perch for the top of the spring might have gotten in the way for it to rotate smoothly.
since you have mentioned 4 washers (2 on each side) and i only have 1 on each side, i have a thought that the mount is touching the spring perch without much pressure on that bearing. is that posible? theres a gap between the washers/bearing when the strut is in place?

when i said perch, i am referring to the spring seat

wow he uses a 5/8th washer! that thing is massive compared to what i'm using. i'm almost 100% sure there is slack between my washer/bearing assembly.
since you know about the bearing... where can i find the correct size washers for these coilovers, that is on the thick side.

on the same note i'll go with new bearings, u say i can order them from that site using the nta-1423 search?

holy @!#$ i just realized i didnt cut the bottom of the strut off. i'm thinking this may have some cause to my problems. but it can only be a problem if the bottom of the sleeve is meant to rotate around the groundcontrol o-ring. if not it shouldnt be a problem
as for the washers, where can i find those at?

Motion industries has everything you need
well i'm about to tackle this problem once and for all. i know for a fact i am missing the 5/8" washer and that is all i'll need to correct this once and for all. can someone help me find the part number for the washer?
at the same time i might as well replace the washer-bearing-washer assembly as well. (the thinner washers). i used the supplied part number for the bearing and found that but now i need those washers!
thanks guys
