You purchased yourself a cat that flows TOO well for the stock sensors. Blame the idiots that told you it would work, because lo and behold, they were wrong.
well that was 100 bucks wasted thanks everyone it was the magnaflow 94035 or something like that. and several people said that they were running it too hmmm.....sucks for me

Are any of them running an O2 simulator?
I will check the number on my cat when I get home.
i had a problem were i had a code 0404 and a 1404 come up due to an egr valve check that too but that is a 200 buck part or even try to get adapter that goes in the lower o2 the cat side .it plugs into the connector and is used for people who have beefed up the car on the exhaust end .it sends a reading to the ecm that everything is ok .rk sports sells them for most gm cars
the code reads that the cat isn't working properly but i am done messing with it. i think when i get some money again i am just going to buy one from a muffler shop

put a spacer in there
it'll pull the o2 sensor further out from the exhaust piping, and it'll think everything's hunky doory again.
..you've never heard of this trick?
I'm using the Magnaflow 94106. No codes here.
im running a 2.5 inch magnaflow cat and no issues here? I think the CEL is hit and miss depending on the car, my car is happy with it, J bodies are weird

way to thread-jack
P0440 is the EVAP system. Not related to this thread or the cat.
But.. I'd say... check your fuel cap. That's the most common cause of the P0440 code.
ive got that cat , and no problems
each car is different because of the program coding , and some cars end up being more sensitive than others
but put a few washers on the sensor to space it out some and see how that works out
the magnaflow cats are 1 of the better cats out there , and 1 of the very few that i know of are obd2 approved cats
I also have the same cat I haven't had any problems with it.
what year n engine size does ur j-body have i can help trust
well i spaced the o2 sensor out further and the light is back on again ne1 have ne other suggestions because its getting really annoying
