Just curious how many on here have swapped out their donut spare for a full size tire and how you go about doing so, would you have to go to a junkyard or something and get the same size wheel as the factory ones you have or how does that work.

sorry biggs, guess i should rephrase the question has anyone on here converted the donut spare that came with their cavy to a full size spare tire and if so how did they do it.
if you go out and buy the same (size) rim as whats on your car all the time and the same size tire thats on your car all the time..... take them to a tire place and have them mount and balance...... then put it in your trunk....
Thank you darkstars at least someone finally figured out what i was getting at, i'm assuming you can get the same rim/wheel that's on your car out of a junkyard or would you be better off going to a dealer for something like that.
whatever you do DO NOT buy it through a dealer... I remember a factory chrome LS Sport rim from a dealer was about $600 EACH. find one local (post up in your regional forum and check classifields) or go to a junk yard. But either way a full size spare will not fit in the spare tire well.
bolt it to your trunk

"Youth in Asia"...I don't see anything wrong with that.
if i get aftermarket headlights for my car, should i put them in?
or should i take it to a shop and have them do it?

im sure everyone understood what you were saying .. they were just shocked you asked .. i mean come one bro its simple buy oem wheel put tire on and put it in trunk .. only thing is the cover will not shut properly im sure
sorry if i shocked everyone, didn't mean to i figured it was fairly simple. Just wondered if anyone else had done it or if they just kept their donut spare i had tried looking into some factory rims for my car once but gm wanted like $500 a piece and it's not worth $2,000 to me so
T2 if you get aftermarket headlights for your car assuming there even is such a thing out there, should you put them in yourself or have a shop do it that would depend on whether or not you have ever put headlights on in yourself before if not i would say have a shop do it. If you have done it before then by all means attempt it yourself either way i got your point.

Yes it's fairly simple, that's why we were shocked. It'd TOO simple for the forums, lol. It's like calling your neighbor and askign him the number for 911
When I put my car in D, it rolls forward...is the D for the end of the word forwarD?

89 sunbird is the d gear on the tranny in your car for the end of the word forward, could be who knows even though we all know what it really means it could mean just about whatever you want it to. Fpz unless that;s a donut in the picture of your trunk looks to me like it fits just fine just sort of sits right in there, with just enough room on either side.
Are you serious? A stock/full size rim is wider than the "donut" spare tire, thus it will not fit in the spare tire area and be able to have the cover on.

okay , so that is a donut in fpz's trunk then interesting never seen a donut spare with a custom rim on it like that.
unless by cover, your talking about that dinky little cardboard/wood piece that fits rather loosely over the donut.
i carry 225/50/15 DR's in my spare tire well. the cover dont fit but who cares?
