A/C on defogger/feet setting
Sunday, March 30, 2008 4:44 PM
OK, so I have an 02 Cavalier. When the vents are on defogger and feet, the A/C works like normal- can be turned on and off with the button. Now, my girlfriend drives an 02, same exact as mine, except I have a spoiler and cruise control, she does not. Her A/C can't be turned off on the same setting. I also own a 2000 Z24 and the A/C in this car can't be shut off on that setting, either. Anybody know why, and which is the way it is supposed to be?

All the 3rd gen J's I've been in, the light stays on for the defogger and the circulation setting. I think your's is messed up.

it turns the A/C on when you have the defroster on becasue the air from the A/C is less humid, meaning less mousture, meaning the defrogger actually works.

Its supposed to do that.

Like every single other car on the planet as time goes on they change the designs and improve on things, it doesn't mean its broken... it means its slightly less of a POS

I figured that my 02 is the abnormal one, seeing as the other two are the same... majority rules, right? Anyway, I think its better to be able to turn it off, in the winter I don't like heat blowing in my face so I use the defogger. Now I have to have the A/C on but at least summer is coming =)

That 02 is a piece anyway.

Thanks all.
