ok i have a bad vibration between 75-80mph while driving and braking at that speed. i was wondering if anyone would know if it was bad rotors or what?

Off balanced wheels. Orrr, dont drive so fast?

could be a bunch of things

warped rotors could cause the vibrations during braking
wheels needing to be balanced can use it
no hub rings with your wheels will also cause a vibration at high speeds

Unless your racing on a track you shouldn't be going that fast. But I had this problem braking at lower speeds and it was rotors, definitely look into it.

ok, one of my first posts in a VERY long time on this site, but back when i got my first cavalier *1996 z24 2door 5spd * and was driving it home, i was having fun with it and between 75 and 85 MPH it would shimmy and shake like no other. before or after those spds it was smooth, turned out i was running on only 2 cylinders...2 of the spark plugs were screwed up, had all 4 plugs replaced and it ran smooth as heck. so try replacing the plugs, since it will be the cheapest and easiet thing to do, see if that might fix it.

only for you. mine never do. then again i work at a tire shop. so my tires are always balanced. but i would try checking the frontend for loose parts, get tires balanced, also have them check for a bent wheel(that will make a viberation and will never go away), replace rotors if its in the steering wheel(90% of the time) or drums if its in the pedal or seat when applying the brakes. should be a good check list to start off. another idea is cv axles if you do all that and you get the viberations under acceleration(very rare).

on my cav, when I got tires in January, all 4 corners rebalanced and realigned, new rotors, retorqued the suspension components, etc....

Its not as bad anymore, but still there.

the Fire w/ the little bit of extra weight up front pretty much stopped that....

sounds like your explaining a bent rim. to me.

On two cars, 3 sets of wheels (one set brand new) + one set stock, plus 3 other J's that I had the opportunity to drive (2 on test drives back in 2005 w/ both less than 1000 miles on the clock each, the third was a rental)... all doing the same thing? I'll give one bent rim, but not that many
