I have slowly been gathering the parts for my swap. But my question has To do with emissions. I NY we are required to have our vehicle hooked up directly to NY state via obd. I was planning on using my 2.2 PCM to run the gauges do I leave that hooked up to pass my emissions test or is there another way around this? Sorry if this is a noob question
i live in ct and i asked the guy at my emissions place about if for my cav and he said they only hook it up 2 check for power and that there is no service engine light.
I'm an inspection mechanic for pa, and there is a lot of work you have to do to make it emissions legit, u have to have it okied by the state, and then you have to take to an emissions shop dictated by the state, and they run emission on it. you PCM also has to match your car, on 96-01 (i thinks those are the right years) you can only have 2 things not complete, but from the next year-present you and can only have 1 system not complete and still pass. Pa is one of the hardest states for the counties that have emissions... and philly is THE worst for it... they run you car on a dyno, and obd2 i do believe..
