So I acquired a totalled 97 z24. The interior in my 2000 needs replaced. I want to use the interior from the 97 but I noticed that the 97's dash is shorter then my 2000s. Obviously I would need to move the radio and HVAC around. Does anyone know if I take the entire dash from the 97 will it bolt up to the 2000?
fit and work are 2 different things

radio opening is differnent and 00+ cluster doesn't fit in. you can't use the 97 cluster and vise versa in a 2000+
thats for the lower dash othere then that everything else will work

I would suggest trying to find yourself a dash from a 2000+ car, and selling off the dash from the Z.
The rest of the interior will work fine.
I don't think my original post was worded correctly. I'm not going to change just the bezel I'm going to change the big plastic dash piece as well. I know I'll have to relocate the AC/heat switches & the head unit around. Seems pretty straight forward but before I spend the better half of a Saturday working on this I want to make sure the entire dash will bolt up in the same place as the 2000's dash.
I admit buying a new bezel would be easier but if modding cars was easy everyone would do it
We understood that you want to use the main part of the dash...Your cluster will not fit the older dash.
gotcha. I'll just order a new bezel off ebay for like 40.00. The rest of the interior will fit perfectly, correct?
