Installing power door locks

OK, I have a question for you all:

I'm installing a set of power door locks on my car and I'm using the outputs from my remote start to control them (keyless entry). The first thing I did was connect the wires from the starter directly to the wires on the lock solenoid, pressed the button, and... nothing happened. So, I ran a wire from the battery directly to one wire on the solenoid and then touched the other to the door. It locked. I switched wires, and it unlocked. So, the solenoids aren't broken, which brings me to my question:

How the hell do you wire these things up? I'm guessing I'd need to have a relay somewhere, but after that I have no idea. If anyone could help me out with this, it'd be appreciated greatly.

Brown Eye-you'll need two relays to control the keyless entry. This page will explain it the best. Any more questions come back and ask...

one quick note: You'll want to find the diagram for Actuators / Reverse Polarity.
