I know the ground wirew should be the same gauge as the power my ? is. I am using a distro block fro the power 2 ga in a three 8ga out what size should the grounds be 8ga or 2ga?
keep the ground same size as the power wire into the dist. block, if your running 2 gauge all the way back ground should alsoo be 2 gauge, just make sure it isn't to long, you could pick up alot of "engine noise" as we call it thru the ground into the amp,

IWhat if 2ga won't fit into my ground off the amp?
then skim some of the exposed wire, not to much, twist as if you were connecting to disconected wires and connect

also, it depends on the amp, if it takes alan keys like mine then do that but is it open and needs a screw driver, for a clean look you can use O rings your horse shoe rings

Can I use a distro block for the ground with this set up: 2ga ground with three 4ga going to the amps. This is how my power is set up. My problem is engine whine
I personaly don't use a dist. block for the grounds if using seperate power sources IE power inverters, amps and caps, i just find places on the chasis to ground out to, and how are you trying to do that explain more into detail from my understanding your just asking can you use a dist block like your using it for the power, yes you can but i say no more the 3 sources, i've tried this and depending on the power sources you have you may or may not experience diming in the doom light, you can't prevent that it happens no matter what now adays, and also the use of a 2nd battery is not also need let me know, send me a message on messenger and i can go into further discussion with you as you let me know

If you're grounding each component, use the same size ground wire as the power wire to that component. You don't need a larger ground wire than power wire.
if you are using 8 gauge to the amps use 8 guage for the ground too. ground distribution blocks are fine. sure beats having 57 holes in your car from grounds.
agreed, and if you amp cannot accept a 2 gauge ground wire that means you dont need a two gauge ground wire into the amp, dont use a large wire cutting off the leads, just use the proper sized wire, if you have 8 gauge going to the amp for the power, use an 8 gauge ground. taking a few 8 gauge or 4 gauge grounds to a distribution block and then one thick wire is fine, just make sure your ground has a very solid connection and that you scrape all the paint away at the grounding point so your ground wire is touching bare metal and not painted metal. also look at the ground wire from you batteries negative post to the frame of the car because it wont matter if u have a 2 gauge ground if the negative terminal is connected with 8 gauge.

You could always weld a fork on it and shove it into the ground on the amp.
