I installed my summit shift light today. I finally got it to work after it just sitting on my dash useless. I could have sworn that i tried the pink wire off the coil packs before but i guess not. So i did it again since its what everyone said was the correct wire, and... IT WORKS! Now i know its best to go and get an tach adaptor so it reads the right rmp, but it works, and has adjustment all the way up to like 12,000 rpm so it wont be a problem with adjustment. my question is will it mess up the car? WHen its on does it draw a significant ammount of power from what ever its doing with the coil packs? will then engine run bad? And not so important, will it mess up the light? heres a video, picture, and the link to the product.
any thoughts?

I've never had one, and never seen one in any car I've ever been in, but I dont think it will do anything to the motor unless its sucking up so much power the plugs are weak. I think it wont draw any power until the light turns on, and even then it'll probably only be a couple amps, and less than 1 amp of power if it's an LED. Of course, it might also draw power to be on just enough to sense the RPM's.
I'm thinking the only answer you're going to get on this forum is "no, it won't mess with your car"... though it might mess with you
