04 cavalier alternator upgrade???
Tuesday, June 06, 2006 12:57 PM
I have an 04 cavalier and am putting in a stereo system that will require more power. Do I need to buy a different alternator to power 2 batteries? If so Does it need to be a special kind because of the ecotec? Or can I just buy any GM alternator? And also what is the recomended amp output for the alt.?

Should be fine on a stock single battery and alt as long as your setup is not to heavy. More details needed on what you plan on buying.

I know it may sound rediculous but I have already bought 2-12" kenwood KFC-W3010 1000w subs, and 2-15" kenwood Excelon KFC-XW1202DVC 800w subs plus all new kenwood speakers for the doors and rear deck, and 3 Legacy -LA2060SL 2-Channel 2000w amps 12v capacitors
