Where To get A Custom Box Built??
Saturday, June 10, 2006 8:56 AM
So im going to be getting 2 12" polk momo subs, and on the polk site they have the exact specification for a bandpass box. Unfortunatly I have never built a box before, and am more than a little cautious about building one, let alone bandpass.

So are there shops where if i took them the specs they would do it (so far asked the 4 and they said no), or will somone here do it for a nice fee?? Thanks

Im located in santa cruz CA

I guess bandbass becuase everyone seems to have an orgasim about it, but i guess ported would be fine. I just want the best sounding sub for metal to symphonics, so if you know something better just let me know!

Whenever I get my box custom built, I was told to talk to JD from soundsthatpound.com by JLAudioCavalier. He said JD is the man for custom built enclosures; you can send him the specs for your subs and it is about $80-$100 (or more for more custom designs). He said he can even wrap the box in anything you want (suede, carpet, and much more). Go to that site and contact JD.

Atk learns fast! E-Mail JD from soundsthatpound.com wont find a nicer guy to deal with, a better built box, TO YOUR SUBS SPECS fuk prefab, and better pricing on custom built boxes

i thought the polk momo subs are designed for smaller, sealed enclosures

if you want metal, some really fast double bass drum action, i'd go with a sealed box a a bit bigger(50-100W) more than what you intended.

if a sub is designed for a small sealed enclosure then it is usually a prime candidate for a 4th order bandpass enclosure
