if you hook up subs that are wired to a 0.5ohm load to a amp that can only handle a 2ohm load and the amp goes into protect mode what happened? I bought subs off a guy and he told me they were wired 2ohms, so i ran them for bout 2 hours until the amp went into protect, so i unpluged all the wires to the amp let it sit for an hour and tried it again, the protect is off now but im not getting anything out of the amp, the amp powers up but no sound, does that mean the outputs are @!#$ and if so how can i get it fixed? I know that i am stupid for believing the guy that they were wired 2ohms without checking first but thats not the case now so please no comments unless you have an answer to my dilema, thank you

If they were wired at like a .5 ohm load and you were running them with an amp that is only stable at 2 ohm, it would play for like 5 seconds and shut off. It shouldn't have gone anywhere near 2 hours.
Check your fuses, and your interconnects. Also make sure that the sub is turned on on the deck. Some decks let you turn it off.
As far as I can tell from what you said, your amps didn't go into protect because of how the subs were wired. It might have gone into protect just because it got too hot. And protect mode is there so that nothing overheats and melts so if I did go into protect, you should be ok.
What amp is it??

Ya, it prolly got too hot and melted something. I would open it up (as long as it isn't under warranty) and see if you see anything that has obviously been melted or anything like that. Other than that, idk.

If there's something out of the ordinary, post some pics of what you find.
Some things you may be able to fix yourself but if you can't you'll prolly have to send it to someone to get it fixed, or u'll have to get a new one.
