How can I connect lets say 4 awg cables to the - and + terminals on my battery? There is no way to remove the nut on either terminal. Am I missing something? I thought I could just take the rubber protector off but as most of you know it's glued down.
They make longer bolts for the studs for our cars to hook up stereo stuff, if you want to go that route. They're cheap and you can pick them up at any auto parts store. You'll also need a ring terminal to crimp onto the wire.
how can I remove the nut on the bolt already there? It almost seems sealed in, Ive tried 3 different tools and none of them will move it.
get the tool from autozone or advanced thats for it. .its in the battery stuff section. it iwll come off and the boots do come off. .
there are a few different adapters. don't get the wrong one!!

you want to bump, then they will bump and hit real hard and a lot good.
LOL
it was .99c. It's pretty handy, and it was the last one. The bolts were 1.50.
i have an 8mm socket i use
use a small screw driver to pry the old one out of the rubber, not that hard, but can be stubborn sometimes.

Is there any way of extending the terminal without taking off the rubber boot? ie replacing the bolt in the boot with a longer one
I wouldn't. It's better to replace the whole thing. so there isn't a chance for the extension to fall off.
