Whats the best way to aim subs, ive seen em pointed towards teh front of the car, to the rear, facing up etc. Which gives the best overall sound and pound?

If you're not sealing off the trunk, usually facing towards the rear works best

I guess im somewhat repeating lanman here, but more long windedly lol...if you can't seal the front from the rear completely, rear firing would be your best option, and also, try moving the box back twords the trunk lid too, theoreticaly the closer to the trunk the better the sound.

On the other hand....you have other fingers.

I just bought a 20 inch widescreen ultrasharp flat pannel..I'm going to have to subscribe to the high quality porn places now......damn

I find that setting subs in approximately the center of the trunk (probably right over the spare tire) firing back gives the most pound... mind you subs are different, and so are boxes. the box I used for my explanation was 2-12" ported w/plexi. It may sound better in different positions. just experiment until you find the sound you like.

I have mine facing the front of the car.

Bass is omnidirectional, yet sounds clearer and better IMO facing foward into the rest of the cars intieror compartment. Best thing to do is buy one of those $50 DB meters from Radio shack, and find out which is best for you. And those radio shack meters are actually quite accurate.

yes, like facing the rear of the car, closer to the rear of the car, theoreticaly about 6 inches between the rear of the trunk and the subs is a good reference point... but move it around and LISTEN, your ears will tell the best story
