'03 Cavi, adding factory style power windows?
Thursday, August 17, 2006 9:11 AM
I've got an '03 Cavi, got a new set of power window motor/arms in the box. Also a new GM switch. Do these cars have the wiring in the harness or will need to make/get that and add it in? I haven't taken it apart yet, just checking to see how much of a pain in the a** it will be. Thanks guys.

No extra wiring is put into the cars... so you'll have to add all the wiring.

I went to a wrecking yard and pulled a complete harness, then stripped my car and installed it.... just to get a clean look for the stuff I was adding. (In my case, the Monsoon amp and speakers)

honestly bro, stick with the crank up windows. i've replaced my power window motors in all four doors more times than i care to remember. and i have to do my drivers rear and passanger front AGAIN this weekend. apparently, jbodies weren't built for power windows, its like a curse. unless you're using a window motor that IS NOT factory, i say don't bother and save yourself the time/money/hassle/aggrivation...

GO PATS!!!

I ran up on a deal on the new GM motors & switches all for $80 so i thought i'd go power windows. I'm not selling my crank up stuff, if the power craps out i'll have something to go back to. Also, i don't intend to rivit them in. Bolts & lock-tite.
