Sirius Antenae Location? Would this work!

If the antenae for the satellite works through the windshield, would it also work if you placed it inside of the rear spoiler? The spoiler is made of a plastic material so the signal should go through it. By doing this no one will know that you have satellte and ther is no need to remove it when washing the car.

you could also place it in the rear window, on top of the rear deck.

Should work, I've heard it works great on Fiberglass corvettes. If it doesn't work man, do what James said and throw it on the rear deck. And if you have it outside the car, just heat gun the metal + antenna and use some 3m double sided tape. Viola, no more sliding antenna through the car wash.

BTW, mine's held down by the magnet and it doesn't slide at all.

works under the spoiler. metallic or non metallic. ive done both, myself. ive also done it in the windsheild, with and without tint, and ive done it with old and new style antannae. so go for it my friend..it all works!

i myself currently have an older antenna sitting inside one of my child anchor plastic things on my rear decklid...works through limo tint. going to re-carpet my rear decklid, and put a smaller newer-style one on the very back, cuz it does lose reception worse under bridges than if it was on the roof or something...

one warning, since i digressed: when you do go under bridges, you'll lose the signal quicker, and for a lil longer, because the signal wont be AS STRONG. itll take a few extra seconds to get it back. also take a look at your normal driving area...if its heavily wooded, dont do it, it has trouble working through a windows/spoiler AND trees it seems.

any further questions, feel free to email me!

wow, good info here...been wondering about this myself because i install sirrius radios in a lot of our rental cars (hertz) and we dont get very good tape to stick the antennas down with so it would be cool to place it in the rear deck insted, not to mention being a lot easier to install due to not having to hide the wire etc on the outside of the car.

on a side note, im not really a fan of the satelite radio's because of the sound quality, imo the music sounds worse than a 128kbps bitrate mp3... (it sounds distorted and like its going through water or something)

then again im picky...
