a install for a co-worker

im doing an install in a 2000 expedition im going to use a MM1400D and a MM100.4, the budget is kinda tight since he wants to spend $1000 for everything. it's going to be for everyday use only and never see a mic.

should i run 4 kicker cvr 10's or one 12" Q ported?

and why?

he also wants a flip out cd player should i go with a new jenson or a clarion VRX765VD re-furb?

clarion re-furb will still be better than a jensen.

yea i know thats why i was thinking about doing the 4 kicker 10's since it will be the same price as the 12" Q.

he told me that he wanted "something better then stock" and to do what ever i think is best. i would get the Q then later on down the road get a 2ed one. right now i really don't know what he wants the 4 10's that will be louder or a 12"q that will sound better.

now i might do a 15" q

so its a 15"Q

12"Q

4 cvr 10's

or 2-3 autotec mm12's

It really depends on the kinda bass he wants. If he wants that nice tight bass that most want when listening to Rock that is great. If he wants deeper bass then he is going to want 12's for 15's. I for one really love the sound of the 15's, but they only are good for the really low deep bass that I like from Rap and Hip-hop. If I was to setup his system I would run 2-3 Kicker subs with a nice crossover in the amp, and remember you buy 1 you get one. So you can keep one of the free ones if you ask me.

I like the mean machines, and I think he'll be happy with them too. Wysi had one before I think.
