from the info you gave, it sounds like a fried 2nd transformer on your circuit board. repairable at a cost, however it costs less to upgrade.
im listening. and thanks for bringing this post back to life
mines the same way on my Alpine CD player. but something inside is loose for me. the bass makes it work intermittantly. im gonna upgrade eventually so. im not to worried about it.
glad to see my advice is helping!

not if you read the 1st post, I HOOKED UP ANOTHER HU, same issue. stop pretending to know everything about car audio.....
watch for flying sparks!!!
did you check you trunk and see if everything is still hooked to the base of the ant.?
if its not the radio it self that leaves the aant. or the cable.
yeah i checked it but it still not working. ok let me give you the story behind it. instead of hooking my HU to the ignition power wires, i ran it to a switch. so i dont have to turn the key on to listen to the radio. it worked fine for a couple months then just stopped. just am/fm everything else works fine. but its annoying not to listen to am/fm tired of hearing the same cds. but thanks for the help guys.
that shouln't cause a it
i don't know to much about the am/fm but you could go to walmart or pepboys and pick up a new ant/wire hook it up and just hold it in your hand. if it works thats your problem
ill try that. its was my last option but ill try that thanks man.
