A Radio Ground Question
Monday, July 21, 2008 6:25 AM
While installing my head unit. a friend told me to use a different ground then the one on the factory wiring harness, to prevent noise through speakers.

so i grounded to the dash frame. and now on a.m. channels if i press the brake of turn signals i hear clicking through the speakers.

so is the factory ground sufficient?

I used the factory ground, worked fine for mine. If u decide to use an amp, just make sure to run the power wires on the opposite side of the car in which you run your speaker wire, should be fine if done right.

Factory harness is almost always fine except on older Chryslers.

The safer bet would be to run a wire down and ground it to (bare metal on) the firewall, just watch where you're drilling \\
