My Sunfire has power nothing but has an aftermarket wireless unlock which was added by a previous owner. Valet or something like that. I really have no information on it. But I do know where the module is. How would I go about adding a trunk popper to it? I'm just tired of having to shut my car off and use the key to open the trunk. The Key fob has an open Aux button which doesnt do anything. So I'm assuming a need an actuator of some sort. But beyond that Im clueless. So any help is welcome. Thanks in advance.
Give me a few weeks, i'll have pictures n'at.
I found it at http://www.the12volt.com/ a few years ago. I'm sure it's still there somewhere.

Ok you have plenty of time Lanman. Im not going to try until summer. No time during school for anything. Thats why I still have my 6.5s in my closet.
I carry my 9 inch in my pants, but that's another story. I have one installed, in a sunfire no doubt, I just have to replace it. It's getting tired.
Maybe this is obvious. But why not just get a latch from a sunfire with a powered pop?
Thats what I was thinking for the latch but Im concerned with wiring it because I dont have factory power locks.
No big. It'll be the same wiring as if you were putting in an actuator.
Ok Im slightly relay retarded. Never figured out why really. I understand everything besides them.
So the 86 and 80 go to a constant fused 12v? The 85 would come off my brain for my locks? and the 87 goes to the actuator?
Sounds easy enough. The wire going to the 85 would need to be hooked into my brain some how. I need to find the slot for that. How would I go about that? Test light and hit my AUX button til it lights up on one output?
If it's a common brand I might be able to tell you. Otherwise yeah, probe all the pins while pressing (holding maybe) aux.
Remember that your park light output will pulse for everything, your siren will a lot of times too. So if you find a wire that looks like aux, try hitting lock and make sure it's not one of those.
Ok Ill check it out tomorrow night since Im actually off work one night this week.
You'll actually need to connect the positive of your meter to +12, the negative to the wire when you hit the button.
Hmmmm. Sounds fun.
So the output is a switched ground?
Yeah it'll be switched ground.
Sorry I assumed you were using a logic probe
So then if +12 coming out of the brain is constant then how do I wire the relay trigger?
The relay trigger goes to whatever wire is (-) when you push the aux button
Ok I get it now. I missed the (-) on the relay diagram. Retard moment.
Where should I mount the relay? Near the fuseblock probably? And how many amps on the fuse for the relay constant?
If you're using 16AWG wire I would stay around 10-15Amps, just to be safe. I don't think the latch draws very much current at all.
I used 18 gauge. It doesn't draw a ton of power, and it's for a very short amount of time.
Should I get an add a fuse or something?
Welp, I did mine today. Did I beat you?
The fuse is going to go on the 12V constant wire.
Cut the wire. Crimp two of these on either side of the wire you cut, and slide a fuse into the spades.

Another suggestion. Instead of dropping 15 or 20 bucks onto one of those 15 pound solenoids, a door lock/unlock solenoid should work as well, and run you a little less money.
You mean a door solenoid off a J? I was gonna try to get a trunk solenoid off a J. But idk Im still a little befuddled. Hehe fun word.
Just a 2 wire door lock/unlock solenoid. One wire gets grounded, the other goes to the relay. If it pushes it out, switch the wires.
