little confused

i found an old SS autotek amp in my basement today and i went to look up the specs for it online. Well, the model # on the amp said 750.1 and all the info i got told me that it was a mono amp? but the amp itself clearly has 2-channels in it.

I am i missing something or is something labeled wrong?

prolly internally bridged. where does it say it has 2 channels?

There are plenty of monoblocks on the market that have more than one set of speaker output terminals. They do this for one of two reasons, either it shares it's chassis/circuit board for manufacturing cost savings, or to allow the customer to wire in parallel directly at the amp and connect each speaker individually. At the terminals is it actually labels as right channel and left channel, or are there just terminals with = and - labelling without distinguishing between channels?

I don't care what company or specific amp it is, any time someone is naming their amp XXX.1, it will be a mono amp. The .1 is going to indicate how many channels the 750 watts are split up to.

it says speaker output then below that there are just lables marked as + and -
so it is a mono amp with 2 speaker outputs then?

so by wiring one sub to each speaker output am i putting a 4 or a 2 ohm load on the subs?

that depends on the amp. try to find out if its internally paralled. if so then if you hook up 2 4ohm subs youll be at 2 ohm,.
