Strange headlight/wiper problem

01 Cavalier 2.2. My wipers barely ever come on when I flick up the wiper control. When I turn the headlight control all the way to turn on nighttime lights, they don't work unless I flip my wiper blade speed on high. Do these components share any relay or anything? Maybe the multi function switch needs replacing?

The wiper switch and the headlight switch are separate pieces, not one multifunction switch like some GMs are. The only things they really have in common are power and ground... I would think there's something loose or you've got a ground missing somewhere.

Thanks John, would you happen to know where they are grounded? I guess a loose connection would explain why the headlights are very dim and why the wipers and headlights seem to occasionally work after I hit a bump.
