Alright,
here is what I want in my car setup...
Red head unit, with inputs for ipod etc,
aftermarket speakers for clear good sound,
a single sub, to not take up too much space,
but add a bit of bass without making the whole car rattle.
Here is what I have
Pioneer head unit, with ipod input, USB input, Green and blue lighting.
Infinity Reference 4x6 in the doors,
Polk Audio 6x9 for the rear deck(not installed)
Now, when my dad and I tried to hook up the Polk audio's in the rear deck...
we had problems,
The factory speakers for some odd reason, have four inputs each...
Whereas obviously most speakers only have 4,
so we tried to tie the two negatives, and the two positives together etc and hook them up... I believe we had no bass,
than tried just two of the lines hooked up... didn't sound right again.
So, come time for the amp etc, we will run all new lines for the 6x9's I guess,
hopefully that will fix the problem of no bass etc, but if not how would we hook them up to the amp without sounding like ass?
Here are the factory speakers...
My current deck
So I want a new head unit,
sub, and an amp....
Just so happens, I found this ad
http://saskatoon.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-auto-parts-tires-audio-GPS-CD-player-Amp-Sub-W0QQAdIdZ162466869
Has the headunit I want(I believe cause it should have the multicolor option...)
Small sub and box,
and an amp...
However 800 watts would be way too much right?
Again,
I'm pretty much a noob with audio,
I can hook speakers up, and somewhat install a headunit,
for the most part,
but when it comes to perfecting the sound etc,
I am screwed,
So explanations are most likely needed.
Get a new 4 channel amp for those door speakers. The sound will be soooooooooooooooooooooo much better. So much.
You have a factory amp i take it? Are you sure those speakers match up to it?
A small 4 channel should wake up your speakers quite well.
What is your budget total? A decent sub can be had for 80-100$ and a decent head unit with all the good iPod features and such are usually in the $150-$200 range. A 4 channel with about 50 watts per channel should be plenty for those speakers, and can be had in the $100 range.
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

I am not sure,
but I am guessing that their is a factory amp,
as I dont see any other reason for four inputs on the factory speakers,
however I cant find the amp...and I half ass looked for it.

Don't really have a budget,
but at the same time I dont want to spend too much money.
And shouldnt the 200 watts supplied by the headunit be enough for the 4x6 and 6x9's?
I dont have an ipod, so i just really need the general headphone input feature for my samsung mp3 player, or a friends ipod at random times, and maybe a usb port
And by looking at that amp,
would that work to power my other speakers as well as the sub?
Sorry if i sound like an idiot, but again Im pretty new to the complete audio setup,
Im just the basic connections kinda guy...
I'm really leaning towards getting the setup from the ad I posted as, that headunit is pretty much new,
and it has an amp(with more than enough power), and a small enough sub to produce the extra hit of bass, yet not steal all my trunk room....
If that listing has everything you want, go for it. I know that looks(only glanced real quick) like an RF P1 sub. Not the best on the market, but a decent little entry level sub.

Well that's the thing,
its the head unit I want,
and a small enough sub and box to not take up too much room.
Thing is... I dont know the first thing when it comes to 'tuning' an amp or setting highs and lows etc,
and 800 watts on a 400 watt sub... doesnt really work out....
So maybe get the package, sell the amp,
and get another amp that can power the sub and speakers?
800 watts and 400 watts are the maximum power ratings.... they're basically marketing numbers. that sub would NEVER handle 400watts rms, and that amp will never put out 800 watts rms. get the model number off the amp.

What you see is what you get JL,
I have contacted the guy,
he wouldn't take 160(didnt expect him to),
said he was firm on 200,
I said I 'scrounged' up 190,
I am thinking he may take that.
I dont know much more than what you see in the ad,
but I do know,
that was basically the head unit I was about to buy...
So unless you guys see a big reason not to...
Im likely going to buy it as I already have the money out.
However if you look closely in the picture...
I think the model number is in gold in the bottom right corner of the center rail...
But i cant read it
Edit: I revoke my post.

I was correcting JL since I though the sub was a P3 but I got to zooming in and realized it was only a P2.
ahhh,
ya its a p2,
not sure on the model of the amp still...
Ima do some searching during my free time here at school hopefully I can find some info on that amp.
Ive been looking for the last few days. Its like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
Well now I feel worthless. Hahaa
Theres no pattern to the numbers like a lot of amps Ive dealt with.
YAY!
Now... what does that tell me:p
Thats not the right amp..................
the 7201 is a 2 channel.
Edit: Unless the guy in the Kijiji ad is wrong.
Double Edit: Kijiji guy is wrong.
Heres what it tells you:

that specific amp is fairly old, 5 years if i remember correctly. unless you're getting a helluva deal on the head-unit that package really wouldn't be worth it imo. That amp was around $100 at the time it was brand new. honestly i would go with a small monoblock amp, especially if you only plan on one sub.
