Hey guys,
I'm aware of moving the ECM relocation to the passenger compartment - has anyone successfully moved the CC module/bracket/cable to the passenger compartment? I understand the CC cable would have to extended if it was moved....just trying to get ideas of where people might have moved it (if any have) I think it would be tacky to just move my ECM and not the CC. Pictures help too!!!!
Also, an additional - semi-off topic - question : Can the CC module/cable be removed and NOT have the computer freak-out (without removing it with tuning).
Thanks!
i put it where the wiper motor is on the passenger side, but not in side the car.i just drilled a hole and bolted it down
Yeah, you can remove it entirely and the car won't even notice.
I mounted mine under the dash. I just used one of the bolts that held it to the mount on the strut tower and bolted it to the framework under the dash. there was enough space on the left-hand side of the drivers foot-well (above where the BCM is kinda) to fit it in.
I didn't have to extend the cable or wires or anything. Though this is on a 2200, I don't know if the ECO CC cable is long enough to do this. However im pretty sure the cables between the 2 units (if they're not the same length) are interchangeable, so you could go to a junkyard and try and find a cable off a 2200 cc unit and use that.
I will snap a pic and throw it up in a bit, its cold out right now lol.

kinda hard to see but if you find the "tab" that I bolted to you should be able to figure it out.
The hole is existing as well.

Awesome guys, I'll be doing this really soon.
Matt it looks like you have a different bracket then the ecotec. Also...did you remove one of the bolts from the strut mount? Did you replace it? seems kind of unsafe only have two bolts holding on the strut!
Either Way it helps me have an Idea where it can go. Thanks!
I first removed the whole bracket from the strut tower, and replaced the bolts/nuts so all 3 were in tact on the strut tower.
Then I removed the cc module from the bracket that was holding it to the tower.
I used one bolt from the original bracket (one that was holding the module itself to the bracket, not the strut tower) to bolt it to the under dash "frame".
What you see below isn't an "engine speciic" bracket, it's just the module bolted directly under the dash with no bracket.
I don't know if all dashes are the same but if they are, poke you're head under there and you'll see where I've got it.
If not I'm sure it would be fairly simple to fab something to use
to mount it.
Sorry if that wasn't clear in m original post.

Oh ok - I get what your saying
Thanks! I'll be doing this before I drop in the new motor
I don't think the eco cc cable is long enough. I was going to do it when I moved the ECU. There was a thread on some forum(maybe clubcav) about it and I think certain years had longer cables. Post up some pics when you do it and what you needed to do.
i have an 03 cav and its hooked on the passenger strut and the cable seams pretty long
if its not long enough order the GMSC cable for the 2.4 LD9 m45 kit. that bastard is like 4 feet long.
i am trying to sell mine if you are interested.... it is actually TOO long for me. i need one in between the stock LD9 one and this sc kit one. i re-located mine into the cowl area just to the left of where the wiper motor used to sit. its bolted to the brace right in the middle. i just need the correct length cable and the project is complete.
Stand in the corner and SCREAM with me!!!!
actually really easy to do. i did it this weekend and mounted it inside the car. the 03 cable is just long enough to do it. i plan on buying a longer cable later.
