so i have a re mx 15 d2 in my cav its in a 4 cube ft box tuned to 35hz... right now im usung a planet audio 1600.1 amp i wanted to upgrade my amp im lookin to spend around 350 or less any ideas of what i can get
you want MORE power than 1600, from a reliable amp that will actually put out rated power, at $350 or less? My suggestion is to keep saving.

an amp i would suggest is the sundown 1500 or 2500, both WAYYYY over your budget...
possibly get another 1600 and strap tyhem to half ohm, add a battery and keep gains down?

Id suggest a Sundown Audio SAZ-1000D if you can find one. Theyre going for like $260 now. My brother just picked up one of the last ones from woofersetc.com. Great reliable amp and does a little over rated power.
well what would be a good amp say around 500 id like to get the most out of my sub its dual 2 ohm

Id go with Audioque. They used a similar board to Sundown Amps last I knew.
The Soundstream and Lanzar should be running similar boards. the xxx-6500 is the same as a lanzar opti 4000d, and the xxx-10000 is the same as the 6500d.
I like the AQ. I'm running an AQ1200D right now... bout to trade it for an AQ2200D. I guess I'm an AQ fanboy now... lol.

what are you looking to do spl wise? i mean most people say spl, when in reality they just want loud, spl to me means that your looking to build for a class for a certain organization. daily ground pounding is different, not going for numbers, just going for super loud system.

i want high numbers looking to get somewhere AROUND 150db's amd i also want to be a daily system all togeather i have 500 for a sub and i just ordered a aq2200d id like to stay with one 15 but i wud go to 12s if it wud be better ... i generally like the very low bass but is it possible to have a good spl system with low bass or is spl more around 50hz
I'm not going to talk SPL advice, but I will reiterate that you should get in touch with PSI about building a custom sub when you figure out how you want it built.

well idk how to explain this, but your going to need alot more than that aq2200 to get to a 150, a realistic goal will be like a 147-148. you can get loud with anything, it just in how you build the box. tbh there isnt a sub worth spending 500$ on that the aq2200 would be worth to push. somthing in the 1500 watt rms range would be a god sub choice, maybe even 2 1k subwoofers would be good. im gunna suggest sundown, mainly because i truely believe they are the best for any application. a single Sundown Z15 or a couple sa-12s or 10s will be good on that power as well. i dont have too much time right now to get into the specifics about the enclosure or what not, but a Z15 is about 400$ and a single sa-12 is around 200$ each. both will do good and fit easily in the trunk of a cavalier or sunfire.
