The 00-03 radio for the sunfire has the 8 pin jack on the back for a CD changer. So i was wondering if that radio would fit in my 97. Im pretty sure it will I just don't want to buy one and get stuck with it, so im taking the safe route. Thanks guys!
I'm going to say no as 00+ radios were powered by the bcm.

Fit? No. 97 is a 1.5 DIN dash opening.. 00+ is a double DIN.
Work? No, for the reason with the wiring as DSMskyline eluded to.
You're better off with an aftermarket deck anyway.
