nice...how many amps?

Looks nice, but voltage really doesn't mean much as long as it's making around 14.4. I want to know how many amps it pushes.

Its a 270xp. Rated 270 amps at 1800 rpms, and does 200 amps at idle. Clamp tests have shown 220+ at idle and nearly 300 amps max

Wow $630 for an alternator is NUTS. Honestly, it had better make you bring home some mad trophies and prize money in SPL comps or that's a NASTY hit to the wallet for.... what?

^^^This especially because theres a version of the AD244 what does 240 amps and mine made over 15 volts too. It looks like a nice piece but damn.

DC Power Engineering Jason, stock as in say stock 105 amp output?

Jason Cooley well i noticed on your site you have high end units....for my build i wont need anything that high end....some slightly above the 105 amp would be perfect pending the price

DC Power Engineering We can build either a 150, 180, or 250 for that. Price wise, you would be looking $249, $369, and $489 respectively.

Jason Cooley and this will be a "direct bolt on " unit ?

DC Power Engineering ‎Jason Yes, this will be a DIRECT bolt on, no brackets or modifications necessary.

No sir. The ears are completely and totally different. No ones found an OEM HO replacement for an Eco.

The LSJ alt is 135 amp, but unless you are superchaged you will be spinning it backwards. Otherwise it works completely with stock setup. The LE5 alt will fit as well, but that is only a 115 amp alt, still 10 amps more than stock.

why not put the l61 rotor in the lsj alternator?

I feel like that would be a lot of work for not much gain. I thik you could get away with spinning it backwards for quite a while anyways. An L61 alt going backwards lasts quite some time, the LSJ alt has more omnidirecitonal fins and it uses a clutch to spin the alt slower to reduce the power made rather than spinning it full speed all the time and moving the stator like normal alts do.

I just received an email back...
DC Power Engineering wrote:Michael,

Unfortunately we can't do anything for the price that they want to pay. The minimum you'd be looking at before we even begin to see if we can do the applications is $389 for an alternator. I apologize. Since everything we do here is custom and not chinese components and custom CNC billet cases we simply can't make enough money to make it feasible.
