Sorry if this has been covered already. But i'm trying to hook up an aftermarket radio, i matched up all the colors already and have an orange wire that says illumination, and an orange/white wire that says dimmer that i cant find matches to on the kenwood radio harness.

Are these needed to be hooked up to have radio work? Or just tape them off.

If I remember right, u don't need to use it. Jus controls brightness

Those wires are quite useless, maybe I did it wrong but I have tried on 3 different head units to get them to work and only once could I get one to go less bright. I feel dumb admitting it but they aren't necessary so why bother trying hard? If your head unit is bright and you drive at night it is quite bothersome to have it not dim., ask me how I know....
