Im in the process of building my 01 2200 and i wanted to c if i missed somethin. heres my list. stanless valves, chrome molly pushrods, high rev. lifters, chrome molly steel retainers, bronze valve guides, port and polish, arp head. main. and rod bolts. cometech head gasket, eagle rods, wiseco pistons, clevite 77 bearings all around.
Im gonna stick with the stock lifters cause i dont want to have to adjust them. Im haveing to this cause i got greedy with boost and was pushing 19psi on stock engine. I broke the top piston ringlands off 2 pistons. thanx for the help.
DRIVE HARD OR DONT DRIVE AT ALL!!!
any 1?
DRIVE HARD OR DONT DRIVE AT ALL!!!
What were you running on the 1/4 with 19psi?
I'll split a set of roller rockers with you...16:1
horsepower is how hard you hit the wall, Torque is how far you push the wall with you
Any chance you could take apart those hi-rev lifters and snap a couple pics for us? (I'm assuming they're JBP)
Also, where did you find chromoly retainers to fit the stock springs and locks? (and why would you spend the $$$?)

im not useing stock ne thing the locks retainers and springs are gonna b jbp. and i dont kno what i would run in the quarter with that much psi. but i did run a 14.6 with 12psi and bad traction. and i would rather not take apart the lifters srry
DRIVE HARD OR DONT DRIVE AT ALL!!!
nothing stock*
DRIVE HARD OR DONT DRIVE AT ALL!!!
So, JBP gave you specs on the springs then? (I would assume you wouldn't run springs with unknown pressures and clearances...)
Also, I'm sure you know not to run full-roller self-guided rockers and the JBP valvetrain, and not to run unguided rockers without guideplates, but just to make sure...seeing as "nothing will be stock".

y not use them and where can i get the guide plates
DRIVE HARD OR DONT DRIVE AT ALL!!!
LOL. Well, you could start by reading the posts in the performance forum regarding these topics.

almost got excited there eh josh?
someone needs to make us some actual high pressure lifters
I thought someone might have been able to help
As far as I'm concerned, the LS1 spring swap IS our high pressure lifter solution, since there's no logical reason it won't work...
Also, I'm 99% sure the Comp Cams 26915 springs will be a direct replacement hi-performance spring for the 2.2L (sorry 2200 guys) when the LS1 lifter spring swap and HD pushrods have been done. We'd be looking at ~133# installed, w/ potential for .550"+ lift.
So, $100 lifters (springs), $80 valve springs, $90 rockers, $90 pushrods, $100 SS valves, $100 head porting kit...fully built 7000rpm-ready head for < $600... me gusta
Add the right cam and piston combo and you're looking at 170+whp potential right there. Or, use the increased top-end airflow and solid valve sealing to allow a massive snail to 'obstruct' your exhaust flow

I wish I could actually sit outside with a couple of you guys with the block and everything right in front of us! That'd get alot of things answered and revealed!
N2O + Bolt-ons
= 220Hp/
250Tq
Coming Soon:HpTunersPro, EagleConnectingRods, WiescoPistons, 13sec2200
In my less wiser days, I bought the JBP springs, titaniun retainers and locks. $$$Lots of money.
I have 1.6 rocker rollers, but not the gold ones salf guided ones. I have the magnum comp cams rocker rollers. I know there has been issues with the other ones binding, but I was just installing the rocker rollers yesterday on my 2.2, and they did not bind as i rotated the crank. I also have chrome moly pushrods. I also have the JBP lifters, and If i would have thought about it, I would have disassembled ones, and taken a few pics. Too late now, I already have the engine almost fully together.
As far as a block, I have an extra one now, if you want to sit down in front of it.

Well, I have a spare block, just not the $$$$ needed for a little R&D. With some cash to actually test out some of these theories things would get done much quicker.

Well, if you got the retainers JBP sells for their springs and locks, they're chromoly, not titanium.
As long as you're using guideless rockers (like the Magnums), the JBP setup will work. It's the 2200 people who will have trouble. However, I just went out and checked, and the 2.2L guideplates CAN be used on the 2200, as long as they are centered correctly (remember, 2200 uses narrower rocker studs). So, SCARAB, PJ's setup will be okay if you don't want to buy new stuff.

y is it that the 2200 has problems.
DRIVE HARD OR DONT DRIVE AT ALL!!!
Because it uses self-guided rockers. Check the "2200 power record" thread for more info. I think it's around page 4 or so...

Thank you for that correction. I don't know why i typed titanium. I was thinking of something else. Yah they are chromoly. Sorry
Well, did you read that 'power record' thread? Did you read the rocker thread? Have you read any of the valvetrain threads?
