I am about to join all you 2.2 ecotec guys to the supercharger world with the GMPP kit
I must give much respect to phlat on his HP numbers. I do have some great news for you guys if this has already been posted Im sorry. Its been a long time since i have been around.
Intense-racing.com makes a 2.5 pulley for the cobalt ss / sc. I plan on going with that setup , along with the machined housing & snout to accept this setup. I recently recieved an email back with them on their upgraded GM ECU's . Yes they can reprogram the cavalier ecu's to accept the 2.5 pulley and upgraded fuel accomodations for the ecotec. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that there are other options as to going stand-alone,.

they don't know what they are talking about when they say they can reprogram the cavalier ECU, unless it is a completely custom tune.
Its impossible to modify the GM ECU flash.
It might be a custom tune. I contacted them about me getting the SC kit for the eco 2.2 and told them the pulley i wanted to use. I am going to call them and get more info on this though to make sure it can work.

I just wanted to be first.
Sounds like RSM all over again..."ooooo ooooo we have our own custom computer programming"

why doesn't someone just get the .bin file for HP Tuners and see what it looks like?
if I had the eco swap done, I'd certainly take a look at it. might be a way around the crappy GM reflash.

im told by alot of cobalt/redline guys that they have a good ecu tune for there stage kits. but ive never heard of them doing a cav ecu at all.
Hmm you are going to put on a 2.5 pulley, but what have you doe to the internals of the engine to accept said upgrade? We have seen what a 2.8 pulley can do to stock rods!

exactly right!
I've seen the 2.5 pulley blow the 2.0 S/C motors too, so be very careful, not sure if this small of a pulley is worth it. Plus at 2.5" you are over working the S/C itself, less than 2.8 inches the roots are overreving above 4,000 RPM. Sounds like you might want to reconsider this.
None of my internals are going to stay stock for long. Eagle rods, Wiesco 8.9:1 pistons. My car goes up for winter here in a few weeks so it'll be a good time to have that stuff installed at my work. If by chance the ecu cannot work, I will again be upgrading my car (yes you heard me right, cobalt ss wiring harness and engine harness) custom job yes.. but it can be done. I dont want to go turbo I would rather go supercharger.

Save your money and go turbo. It's a better option from my personal experience. Especially if you are building up your internals.
^Agreed. Cadwz24(Projected1) Dyno'd what like 225hp and is running 14.3s with less then a grand into the Saab turbo setup. Ive got probably almost 3500 into my s/c including the kit, heat exchanger setup, pulley, and intake. Granted im an auto and running a tenth quicker, he could turn up the boost where im maxed out on my tune peaking 14.9psi. For the amount of money a turbo setup could be much faster and much more efficient. Which probably explains why Imdumping more money into my S/C setup.
Id get cliche and tell you to set a goal for yourself but Ive went from 225 to 250 to 275 to hoping for 300+hp

8.9 with the s/c isnt gonna be alot of fun , the s/c likes a little more compression
from the looks of it the intense stuff is for the 2.0 , not 2.2 , the pulley doesnt matter , the pcm flash does
As far as the tune goes. Intense cannot do it and nor do they want to, at least last time I talked to them anyway. There is a guy that is part of the intense racing team named Rob, I had talked to him a few months ago and he was willing to create a tune from a stock ECM for me. He owns and operates Hoosier Performance out of Indianapolis.

actually a 2.6" pulley is not overworking the blower at 7000 rpms on cobalt and ions, and a 2.5 only overworks it over 6500 rpms, so if you have the internals, injectors and tuning I wouldn't be concerned about putting one of these in. The maximum recommended RPM for the blower is about 16000 rpms.
