Just wondering about something...I have a pulley pulller, so I can get the existing pulley off. Is there a special way of getting the new one on? Do I just push really hard with my hands and have it slide on?
no you have to press it on, what puller do you have?
mine is from zzp and works both as a pulley and a press
You can try using a mallet if you don't have a press!

yeah cause that will get it on there nice and square and won't cause any issues at 12K RPM if its not....
Use a puller/install tool like the ZZPerformance one.
ps pulley puller worked for me!

I don't know the brand name...it's a generic one my Dad uses at work to pull pullies off of machines.
I don't think it acts as a press. Bah.

Firts off dont give retarded advice like that. Lets beat on a shaft that has some much needed bearings at the other end of it.

exactly. that is a dumbass remark. my friend bobby tried that after some frustrating 8 hours of trying to install the pulley, and it knocked one of the bearings/rotors out of alignment.

Answer my pm's I'd love to come up. lol
Also: I was looking at my Thrasher pulley and realized there are no grooves in the pulley to keep it in place. How does the pulley not slip when it's on the s/c?
No pics.
I left the pulley in Nashville when I left for Alabama. I'm planning on being here until the end of next week.
So none until then.
not sure if you still need help but here is the right up i did way way back when i had the first quick change set up from pulley boys...

they are press fit , which is why you gotta use a puller to pull them off
and press them on
the s/c shaft is larger than the hole that is in the pulley/hub
ohhhhhh, that makes sense.
Thanks for clearing that up.
Ahhh i thought you were saying the belt surface had no vroves
