2.2 OHV Turbo install questions.....
Saturday, March 17, 2007 5:39 PM
Ok.

So we have a manifold that puts the turbo right ontop of the oil dipstick tube. What have you guys done to fix this?

Can we use the stock oil pressure sensor, 'T' off of it and run it to the turbo for the oil feed? And for the oil drain, do we have to drill and tap the oil pan? Or is there some other way to drain it?

Is the stock oil pressure sensor on the 2.2 the same as the one on the 2.4? And I can't remember off the top of my head, but what are the brass NPT fittings that I need to 'T' off?

I think that's it for now, thanks guys!

you can bend the oil fill tube or you can cut it and reweld it at a different angle. either way works. there are unused ports on the back of the block under the intake manifold that you can use for the oil feed for the turbo. several of us have done it that way and not had any problems. i can't remember the title of the post right now, but i'm sure if you search "ohv oil feed" or something similar you'll find what i'm talking about. for the oil drain line, the easiest thing to do is run the return line right into the dipstick.

1) when I had my turbo 2.2 (1995) I rewelded the oil dipstick and added an oil return.
2)the oil feed I grabbed from the back of the block like stated above
3)on the 2.4 the oil pressure sensor is underneath the ICM, basically beside a spark plug (for location reference, not exactly beside)
