so i am new to this site and i also am new to boost so i have a few quest about my set up:
i have a 00 z24 and i have a garrett t60 turbo, greedy bov, a wast gate, cobalt ss injectors, aem wide band with gage,3 pillar pod boost gage and air to fuel volts oil presser,srt4 front mount innercooler. and i don't have the piping yet. i plan on running 20 psi j/k .......10psi with all stock internals and if i get the head gasket maybe 12psi. i don't wanna push it cause i can't afford any thing else big i am getting it tuned at jd racing he is really good.
so what i'm trying to ask is will my motor be ok ,did i get everything? whats the most you would ever run (psi) with stock internals not to blow up.its going in as soon as i get all the stuff (it's in the mail?) so i am guessing mid sept i'll be cruising.and so far i am only at $950.00 piping will be 150 and tuning on top of that. thx alot for helping.
10 psi with a good tune will be fine

I run 7psi all day long no problems. 10psi is probably your limit. I may go as high as 9psi on the stock Ecotec.

stock 2003+
the 2002 ecotec motor is the strongest in stock form. Why? Because in 03+ GM cut the ring land size in half.

whats max boost can run on stock internals on a 1997 2.4 ld9

thats dope, is the eco stronger. then the 00? r you roungh on it or just 4 and under?
I beat it pretty regularly. She sees all 15-16psi on pretty much a daily basis.

I think you're talking about the 1st 4 gears, and no, all the way to 5th, if I've got the open road to do it. Not sure about strength, I had a 96Z with the GM Charger on it, she didn't like too much more than 10psi, but I know a little more now than I did then, so that could have played a big factor in the short life span, only 4 months at 10psi before it blew.

And your point being what exactly. It still starts up every morning asking for me to do it all over again. Why be afraid of breaking something that can be fixed easily with about 6-8 hours of work? Don't misunderstand, I am building a motor, as a matter of fact I had one fully built on the stand ready to go in, one of my friends blew his and bought it off me for retail of all the parts in it, oh well, gotta do it again. NBD, the eco is one of the easiest engines I've ever worked on. Plus I don't mind the work, it's good for wasting rainy days.

Are you using Stock CSS/IRL injectors? or stage II injectors. Stockers are, i think, 35#/hr (or something in the mid-low 30's). I think stock 2.2 injectors are mid 20's #/hr. I know that on the Redline, once the car starts seeing over 16psi (usually stock everything with a 2.8-2.85" pulley or smaller), it will require the jump to 60 #/hr injectors and a new tune, as the injector duty cycle (IDC) will exceed 100%, ends up with blowing piston #4.
GMPP Stage II on the redline comes with 42#/hr injectors, and I believe they are running at about 90-92% IDC. Which is too high in my opinion, but i'm too broke to pay for 60's and a tune...plus with 60's i might as well just get a 2.7" pully and really up it.....
I'm just thinking that for going turbo, stock LSJ injectors won't do......any tuning gurus wanna jump in on this one?
Didn't work for me. I went to 44#'s and was still a little lean at the top end, now I've got the 48's and all is good... far as I know.
