ok I been kinda reading the stickey for to supercharge a pre 00. my question is can I just use HPT or need to use a stand alone. im still ready im not 100% sure what a stand alone is or how to use hpt. I know for the 97 u need the start and blah blah blah to do it right. as for the M45 what's the smallest pully you can put on it before u can't get any smaller. as for port and polishing dose it really help " sorry very newbi question". any good sites on superchargers? web sites to send a charger to get P&P? im not doing any thing yet im just trying to read up on boost and if its right for me. I know turboing would get more boost but I don't want to turbo. now as the car being a auto it should deff get built? lsd, tranny cooler rebuilt with better parts, stall converter? what's can the stock axels hold as in power? and are there any good sites to read up on as how to build the engine up?

No, you do not need a standalone to boost a pre-00 jbody. HPT is working fine for me and my supercharger. Ask around the org for what each tuner is going to require. Some people are doing the "fake" 2 bar tuning method while others are using a FMU to add fuel and HPT to for it on the VE tables. 607 Motorsports did my base tune, and all I needed to add was to make sure my FPR would act like an FMU under boost.

Smallest pulley I have seen used is a 2.4, but you will need water injection waaaay before that point.

Porting a supercharger will "always" help if you have the supporting mods to go with it. I had Stiegemeier's port my supercharger, but I had it done before I bolted it to the car so I don't know what the actual gains were. They just told me it flowed 20% better on the flow bench.

I am a 5spd guy so I can't much on the auto tranny end of things. Engineered Performance has a LSD for the 4spd auto trans

Yeah, I live out by the airport, but I work in Beaver County. I don't drive the Cav that much, so it is possible a lot of people don't see me.

Once you get your Z and your supercharger, head over to SpeedNation in CastleShannon. They are using my copy of HPT and can tune your car on the dyno
