my question is it possible to get 400hp out of the gm sc on a 2.2 and if so what internals / compression ratio and pulley woudl i have to run if its even possible
you build it and tell me.

exactly
run a tiny pulley, forged bottom end, lots of meth, lots of nitrous, anything is possible.

@turboalero
With nitrous, and meth, It's possible, but without those, I really can't see the blower past 300whp.

....you'd be hard pressed to pull 300!
Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?
you'll be lucky to get 250hp out of an M62. if you want that much power, go turbo, the answer is straight and simple.

Actually the answer is kinda curly
I used to race cars, now I race myself.

I've seen dyno #s in the 240hp range...so 250 wouldn't be to hard....heck I'd say 275hp or so is very obtainable!
The thing to remember is no one has really built an engine and ran teh M62...so it's hard to say if you can get over 300hp...but I think that woul dbe about the limit....but 250 can be had!!

theres a guy on cobalt ss.net whos all built and he running a smaller pully and hes up to about 400 hp . why can't the power be reached. The blower could hit 350 buy itself with meth if your built then shoot some nos. Explain why it couldn't be done if your built for it. The charger could over spin but hell if your going to build the motor take the charger about and change that @!#$ to.

gm goth the eco to make 1000 with a garrett with stock internals so 400 is np
THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE, i have already died once and im still here so lets just leave it on the track

Are you kidding me about the eco? Both of those statements are far from the truth
gm got the eco to make 1000 hp STOCK? are you kidding me ??? yea ok. for what a half a second?
No one sees to know the limit of the charger yet. I woudl't doubt it's capable of 400+ crank hp if spun to the max with some cooling mods (dual pass/meth injection).
I'll find out it's limit this season

Im hoping to hit or get close to 300 hp in the cobalt
W/O having to go tiny on the pulley size
I ran 248WHP with a 2.9" pulley DAILY. 300 is VERY much so within reach with the M62.

i had 257hp and 233tq but with a 2.5 pulley..

I think if you got a super ported head, comp blower cams, ran stock compression w/ built bottom end, a great heat exchanged and exhaust and a lot fo tuning with a smaller pulley you could hit over 300 whp easily... The ecotec's open up a lot with a good head

You can get 400hp on a supercharged eco, just not with the M62

Hmmm who is this guy? The closest i've ever seen is around 330whp and that was using nitrous on top of the M62. A bit over 300whp is pretty achievable on the Cobalts as that is around what I've got... but 400whp will never happen out of the M62. Upgrade to a Harrop TVS or Lysholm blower and it may be possible with meth but even those have yet to achieve much over 350whp. Bottom line is on small displacement engines the only way to make HUGE hp numbers is to go turbo, and a big one

if a tiny m45 can hit 230whp on a 2.4,. surely an m62 can hit 330whp on a 2.2.
Rollin' on question marks since 07.
hahaha sarcasm is what makes the world go round
Blew it up, build numbers coming soon
