I'm very new to the scene of turbos, but I have a question regarding waste gates. Where do they usually mount? What I do know is that some turbo's come with an internal waste gate, but I'm talking about external waste gates.

External gates usually mount on the turbo manifold.

That last one, the wastegate tube is pointing down, turbine from the turbo would be sitting on the flange pointing up and the flange at the far back is bolted to the engine.

That should give you a good idea of how they work... as skillz said, mounted before the turbo and that's more often than not right on the manifold.
