Anybody ever know of somebody twin charging a quad-4? As in using the factory supercharger AND a turbo?? Im kinda toying with the idea. I dont see why it wouldent be possible. Any thoughts, opinions or concerns would be greatly appreciated.
There isnt a factory S/C for the LD9. But yes a few have/are using the M45 S/C and a turbo. The term is twincharging, search for it.

I thought the M45 WAS a factory supercharger...
Twincharge... good luck with the tune. Plus the M45 doesnt like cool air, so you probably would be better just turbo.
I havent seen a 100% stock J body with one on it.
Thats my definition of "factory", the way it rolled off the assembly line.

put the s/c on a chain and use it as an anchor.
put a properly sized turbo on the engine and make serious power.

Since when did a supercharger not like cold air??

Could not agree more.
Also you could buy a Z24 with the charger already installed, so it is a factory supercharger, even had warranty.

Hmm, Wonder why pro-stock cars DON'T run turbos?

Actually you could NOT order it with the supercharger from the factory. The car left the factory without the supercharger therefore it was not a "factory" option. If you bought the supercharger at the time you bought the car it was installed at the dealership not at the factory.

for the same reason they don't run superchargers, nitrous, or any other "power adders." And, like NASCAR, they're still running them carby-raters, too.
The pro mod guys, OTOH, do run turbos to achieve higher speeds and lower elapsed times.
