I've noticed recently my car tends to throw out a puff of smoke when I'm at WOT, about 5-6 psi. I was wondering if anybody else's car smokes a little bit, or if my motor may be dying. I do run 92 octane gas, and keep up the oil changes regularly. I'm not getting any engine codes except for the P0420 which I've had for years.
Could it be carbon buildup blowing out the exhaust pipe? I don't boost it regularly, it sits most the time at -10 vac when driving.
what are you running....gm flash??
Yup. just the GM flash. Haven't had a change to get it tuned yet.
is it like the l61 flash that runs rich at WOT?
Yessir it is and does, she makes a good black cloud.

are you leaking any oil?? i recently blew the seals on my garrett causing blue smoke.... which was the oil burning off... have you ever taken your set up off?? if so i would say plan a day to remove and inspect... hopefully nothing to bad... good luck man.
Yup, that's what mine does. Black cloud
Only does it once though when It's boosting.
So it's normal?
Yep, your tune is just rich.

best epiosode of barney ever lol
That black smoke is visual confirmation that your heart is breaking with the realization that GM half-assedly tuned their PCM to run 9-10:1 under 5 measly PSI of boost for no apparent decent reason.
It hurts, I know.

Slowly but surely may some day win this race...
Eh I'd much rather a puff from rich than a poof from lean.
